Description: The City of Santa Fe’s Historic Preservation Division holds important primary source material germane to Route 66’s early (1926-37) alignment when it traversed Santa Fe. Most of these sources are applications that are filled out in connection with efforts to preserve houses, buildings, and other structures within the city’s historic districts, through which Route 66 passed. Each application, and the review that accompanies it, has a photograph attached.
